Higher Calling is one of the most dynamic and influential gospel choirs of the modern era. Founded in Atlanta in 1996 by visionary choir director and musical architect Kevin Lemons, the ensemble quickly became known for its electrifying sound, powerful vocal arrangements, and its ability to bring together singers from across the country in a spirit of excellence and ministry. Over the years, Higher Calling has grown into a nationally respected choir collective, celebrated for blending the rich traditions of gospel choir music with the energy and musicality of a new generation.

Through recordings, national performances, and collaborations with leading gospel artists, Kevin Lemons & Higher Calling helped reignite excitement around large choir music in contemporary gospel. Their recordings and live performances have inspired choirs and musicians around the country, while their signature sound—bold harmonies, infectious rhythms, and deeply rooted faith—has made them a beloved presence in churches and concert halls alike.

Following the passing of Kevin Lemons in 2023, the choir continues to carry forward his vision and legacy under the leadership of his wife, Tiunna Lemons. Together with the members of Higher Calling, she remains committed to honoring his life’s work while continuing the choir’s mission of uplifting audiences through powerful music and worship.
