Dylan Bannister

Dylan Bannister is a visual artist whose interdisciplinary works explore memory, nostalgia, and liminality. Aiming to highlight the beauty in the everyday, Bannister’s images often feature utilitarian fixtures such as payphones, sign frames, buildings, and powerlines. Bannister’s works have been included in group exhibitions throughout the southeastern U.S., and his 2023 solo-exhibition Dialing Out presented recent works from his Payphones on Film photo series in the Arts Council of York County’s Center for the Arts.

Based in Rock Hill, SC, Bannister shares a creative space with his partner Alexis Howard called Gentle Reminders Studio, where they frequently engage with their creative community. In 2025, Bannister assisted in founding Keep Rock Hill Creative – an initiative that aims to preserve and nurture the city’s grassroots arts and cultural scene. In his arts administrative role at ArtPop Street Gallery, Bannister furthers the nonprofits’ mission by connecting local artists to paid project opportunities and providing turnkey creative solutions to clients through its Inspiration Projects division.
