Born and raised in Charlotte, Alanah LeNay is a pianist,composer/arranger and producer who blends her favorite aspects of Black artistic expression, to develop her personal voice in music. Alanah LeNay’s musical career was established in the church, where her artistic voice began to emerge and later grew throughout her time at Howard University. Through the years, she has been inspired by revered musicians such as Stevie Wonder, Herbie Hancock, Wayne Shorter, Robert Glasper, and Geri Allen; all of whom have added to her constantly expanding skillset. As an emerging artist she has performed at Blues Alley (DC), Arena Stage, and other venues in the DMV. LeNay’s motivation is to continue to create music that empowers, uplifts and invokes thought to its listeners.
