MOD is an innovative chamber ensemble based in Charlotte, NC. Formed in 2024, they have been featured performers on the Charlotte SHOUT! and BOOM Fringe Festivals. Specializing in contemporary music and interdisciplinary collaborations, MOD seeks to explore what is possible with the chamber music medium in the 21st century. Collectively, members of MOD have been awarded the Gold Medal at the Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition, and performed in venues including Lincoln Center and MASS MoCA. Members of MOD have received funding from the North Carolina Arts Council and Arts and Science Council of Charlotte-Mecklenburg. MOD is composed of Dylan Ward, Avery Bumgarner, Ben Still, and Caleb Carpenter.
MOD will present a program of music by American and North Carolina composers Kat Souponetsky, Nina Shekar, Carlos Simon, Nia Imani Franklin, Corey Dundee, John Coltrane, and Rhiannon Giddens.
