Cedric Mangum, trombonist and teacher in the shout band tradition of the United House of Prayer, helped start the Clouds of Heaven band almost half a century ago (featured on the Smithsonian Folkways CD SAINTS PARADISE). He cost-hosts and produces GospelSHOUT! With his family band, he’s appeared at the National Folk Festival.
